Cala d'Or · Adults only

A day measured by the sun.

Monsuau is a small adults-only hotel on the Cala d'Or coast, made for the whole arc of a Mallorcan day — the pool at noon, a cool room in the afternoon, the rooftop when the light turns gold.

24h The Monsuau day

A hotel built around the hours of the sun.

Cala d'Or has a particular light — long, clean, low over the water by evening. Monsuau is arranged to follow it. There is a place to be at every hour, and the day moves with the sun rather than against it.

13:00 Midday At the pool, in full sun
16:30 Afternoon A cool room, shutters half-drawn
19:40 Golden hour The sky lounge, on the roof
21:30 After dark At the table, two restaurants

13:00 Midday · the pool

High sun on the water.

The pool sits in pale travertine that holds the heat, with loungers set out for the long middle of the day. A coffee from the pool bar, a hat, a book — most of the afternoon goes here, and that is the point.

Adults only, by design.

Monsuau takes only adults — so the pool stays calm, the loungers stay free, and the quiet of the middle of the day is left intact.

16:30 Afternoon · the rooms

Four kinds of room, one kind of calm.

Light walls, warm oak, white linen and a taupe throw. Each room is built for the cooler half of the day — shutters you can half-draw against the sun, and a window or terrace placed where the green and the water are.

A bright White room with a pale oak headboard, soft green artwork above the bed and a full-height window onto greenery

White

The lightest of the four — white and oak, a wall of glass to the garden, and as much morning as you want to let in.

  • Garden view
  • Full-height glass
A Prime room with an oak feature wall, a private balcony framing trees, white linen and a folded grey throw at the foot of the bed

Prime

A step up, with a private balcony for the afternoon and the evening — some look over the pool, some catch the sunset.

Double

The everyday Monsuau room — calm, well kept, and on the ground floor some open onto a private slice of the pool.

  • Swim-up option
  • Ground floor
A Junior Suite with a separate sitting area, a tan partition wall, cream sofas and a bed beyond, opening to a sunny balcony

Junior Suite

The most room to spread out — a separate sitting area beside the bed and a balcony, for the stays that are about taking your time.

19:40 Golden hour · the sky lounge

The roof, the moment the light turns.

The sky lounge is the reason to be on the roof at seven. A drink in cut crystal, the Cala d'Or hills going dark against the gold, and the best half-hour of the day handed to you with nothing to do but watch it.

It runs through the evening — quiet music, a short list of cocktails, and a horizon that does the rest. The one part of Monsuau everyone remembers.

21:30 After dark · the table

Two rooms to end the day.

Dinner at Monsuau is unhurried. The main dining room handles breakfast in the light and dinner under it; Nua is the smaller à-la-carte room, set apart for a longer evening.

Nua À la carte, by reservation — the slower, set-apart evening.
Main room Breakfast in the morning light; a buffet and a wine list at night.

Where it is

On the coast at Cala d'Or.

Cala d'Or is the calm, low-rise corner of Mallorca's south-east — a run of small coves and turquoise inlets, a marina, and pine down to the water. Monsuau sits a short walk back from it, on the quiet side.
